What the DAF XD Electric is built for

The DAF XD Electric is a battery-electric rigid truck, built for urban and regional distribution, where daily distances are predictable and the truck returns to its depot to charge.

Battery and charging

The DAF XD Electric is offered with 210 – 525 kWh (4 sizes) batteries of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, above the median of 375 kWh across the 10 electric rigid trucks in our database. LFP cells hold less energy for their weight than nickel-based ones, but last more charge cycles and tolerate heat and fast charging well, which is why most heavy electric trucks now use them.

It charges by DC fast charging (150 kW or 325 kW DC, 22 kW AC optional).

Power and drive

Its electric drive delivers 170 – 350 kW continuously; its peak power is above the median of 295 kW across the 11 electric rigid trucks in our database.

Drivetrain: pACCAR EX-D1 or EX-D2 with integrated powershift transmission, 4×2, 6×2, 6×4 or 8×4 rigid; 4×2 or 6×2 tractor drive.
