The SHACMAN Electric Cement Mixer 8×4 is a battery-electric concrete mixer truck with a 12 m³ drum and a gross vehicle weight of 35 – 45 t (77,200 – 99,200 lb). Mixer trucks shuttle between a batching plant and nearby sites, so they return to base many times a day and can charge there; the drum is driven electrically from the same battery.
Battery and charging
The SHACMAN Electric Cement Mixer 8×4 is offered with 352.1 – 400.6 kWh batteries of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, above the median of 350 kWh across the 5 electric mixer trucks in our database. LFP cells hold less energy for their weight than nickel-based ones, but last more charge cycles and tolerate heat and fast charging well, which is why most heavy electric trucks now use them.
It charges by DC fast charging and battery swapping, where a swap station exchanges the depleted pack for a charged one in about five minutes. Swapping keeps a truck working around the clock and is widespread on Chinese freight corridors, mines and construction sites, where swap stations serve whole fleets.
